The Next Step Spring Scholarship

At KURU Footwear, we believe the steps you take today shape the career you’ll walk into tomorrow. Nurses and healthcare professionals are on their feet every day making a difference, and we want to support you on that journey.

That’s why we’re proud to introduce The Next Step Spring Scholarship, a $1,000 award designed exclusively for nursing students pursuing their degrees. This scholarship will be applied toward qualified educational expenses, including tuition, fees, books, and on-campus housing for the 2026 academic year.

To be eligible for the KURU Footwear The Next Step Spring 2026 scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a US citizen
• Be an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior entering the Spring 2026 semester
• Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
• Pursuing a degree in nursing or enrolled in a nursing program
• Be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university for the Spring 2026 semester
• Submit a 200-300 word essay answering the following question: "Every nurse’s journey begins with a single step. What are the steps you’re taking now to prepare for your nursing career, and how do you see yourself making a difference in the future?"

Applicant Eligibility
Applicants must be a citizen of the United States.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university in the Spring 2026 semester. Applicants must also have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale.

Employees of KURU Footwear (and members of their immediate family and/or those living in the same household of each such employee) are not eligible.

Description of Funds
The recipient will receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship to be applied to qualified expenses, including undergraduate tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board for the 2025 academic year. Funds are provided by KURU Footwear.

Payment will be issued by KURU Footwear, made payable to the student’s approved college or university, and mailed after January 9th, 2026, directly to the accredited college or university last designated by the student.

Winner Selection and Announcements
The winner will be selected after the KURU Footwear Scholarship Committee reviews all entries after the deadline of December 19th, 2025. Entries will be judged on thoughtfulness, composition, and insight. Essays with poor grammar, spelling, and lack of proofreading will not be considered. The winner will be notified on or after January 9th, 2026.

College/University Approval
The institution must be accredited and listed on the official website of the U.S. Department of Education. Applicants attending military academies are ineligible for this scholarship. All school transfers are subject to accreditation approval.

Permissions
KURU Footwear reserves the right to alter or discontinue this program at any time without notice. All essay submissions become the property of KURU Footwear and may be reposted or displayed online, in whole or part, without notification. KURU Footwear shall be entitled to use, alter, or delete submissions for any purpose whatsoever without compensation to applicants.

Terms and Conditions
The promoter of this competition is KURU Footwear whose principal office is located at 4416 S Century Dr, Salt Lake City, UT 84123. Persons must be at least 18 years old, or otherwise have reached the age of majority under the laws of the state where you reside, in order to participate. Only residents of the United States are eligible to participate.

There is NO ENTRY FEE AND NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER THIS COMPETITION. Any purchase or consideration otherwise given by entrants will not improve one’s chances of winning. Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are available via www.kurufootwear.com/pages/scholarship.

Upon application, entrants will be asked to provide their name and contact information so that KURU Footwear can notify the winner of the results. Closing date for entry will be December 19, at 11:59:59 p.m. PST. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted. Odds of winning are based on the total number of entrants. Only one winner will be selected from the entire pool of eligible entries. The winner will be chosen by KURU Footwear. The winner will be notified by email by January 9th, 2026. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 5 business days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.

KURU Footwear will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected. The winner will receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship to be applied to qualified expenses. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and KURU Footwear reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. The winner agrees to the use of their name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current federal and state data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.

KURU Footwear’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. KURU Footwear accepts no responsibility for entries not received for whatever reason. KURU Footwear reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of KURU Footwear’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by KURU Footwear. KURU Footwear is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Utah law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Utah. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, or any other social network. You are providing your information to KURU Footwear and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the Privacy Policy found at kurufootwear.com.
